Men
Book Group for Single Men:  If you are an unmarried young man, this is for you.  We'll be discussing an excellent book by Tim Keller, titled The Meaning of Marriage. (Yes, the same book the women are reading... it is a great book for men too!) This is for all who hope to be married someday and want to prepare themselves well.  We will be meeting three times (possibly having dinner together?), location TBD. The dates are all Monday evenings, 7-9 pm:  6/11, 7/16 and 8/20. Pull in a friend and sign up by emailing Mike at mike@sbcommunity.org.

Praxis:  Praxis meets on the first and third Fridays of each month.  Join other SBCC men at church in the Upper Room at 6:15am for coffee and donuts and continue with the meeting from 6:30am to 7:45am. Our last Praxis until the Fall will be on June 1st.

Book Group for Single Women:  If you are single (whether never married, or divorced) we'll be discussing an excellent book by Tim Keller, titled The Meaning of Marriage. This book group will be a safe place to openly discuss our expectations with respect to marriage – in light of the gospel, and in light of the complicated world in which we live. We will be meeting three times (possibly having dinner together??), location TBA.  The dates are all Monday evenings, 7-9 pm: 6/11, 7/16 and 8/20. Pull in a friend and sign up online at www.sbcommunity.org/mwministries/register/.  For more info, contact Bonnie Fearer, bonnie@sbcommunity.org.

Summer Women's Bible Study:  Tuesday evenings, 7-9 pm, 6/19-8/21 in the C.E. building at SBCC.  Join us as we study Believing God, by Beth Moore.  Based on Isaiah 43:10, this study explores what it means not only "to believe in God" but "to believe Him." By studying the lives of Abraham, Moses, and others as examples of persons who believed God, we will be encouraged to deepen our own trust in God. Opportunities & Info
Greeting– A Great Way to Serve SBCC:  Are you looking for a fun way to serve at SBCC?  We need friendly, smiling faces at the door before our services to greet people as they arrive.  It requires about one day a month, arriving about 20 minutes before our services, handing out Announcements, and in general making people feel welcome.  We particularly need help at the 11:00 and 5:00 services.  If you are interested, please contact Jill Dixon for more information, jill@zinkwazi.com.

Book Group for Married Couples:  If you are married and would like to read and discuss Tim Keller’s book, The Meaning of Marriage, contact Reed Jolley at reed@sbcommunity.org for more details and to sign up.  (Same dates & times as the Single’s Book Group meetings.)

A Place for Everyone in Church: We believe everyone has a place of ministry in our church family and caring for the children in our church provides the opportunity to both take your place in ministry and create a place for our children. This summer we have these two ways to consider caring for your church family:

  • Working with a specific group of children for 4 or 5 Sundays in a variety of roles (no preparation relationship building roles, story tellers and activity leaders) Sign ups are May 20th & 27th. For more information, contact Tricia Popp at tricia@sbcommunity.org.
  • Childcare to fill in the gap that has been created in the home group break…can you sign up for at least one Sunday this summer to care for our church family? Contact Donna Sugano at donna@sbcommunity.org or sign up on June 17th or 24th.

All ages welcome! High schoolers, receive Community service; others, receive the gift of identifying with the “least of these”.
